The two-year Master's degree in Production at the Academy of Dramatic Arts is founded as an overview of advanced production knowledge and skills, with a particular focus on the creative and artistic aspects of global, European, and regional contexts, particularly Croatian theatre, film, television, and other media. The program is structured to stimulate students to generate, implement, and promote media and artistic products in the cultural, media, and economic context. The Master's degree is divided into two specializations: Production of Audiovisual and Multimedia Projects and Production of Performing and Scenic Arts.
The program offers students a systematic approach to management in film, television, and theatre, with an appropriate historical, social, cultural, and aesthetic context. During the course, exercises and collaborations with relevant contemporary domestic and European artists and production professionals are organized. The program leads students towards connecting theory and practical knowledge application. It develops a systematic approach to analyzing production processes, understanding various film, TV, and theatre programs, creatively engaging with performances, and evaluating classical theatre and film through contemporary theories. Students are directed to adopt and understand different segments of film, television, and theatre, such as text/script, performers, space, structure of performance, acting, directing, the ability to respond constructively and sensitively to others' work, and flexibility and adaptability during the production process.
After completing the Master's program, students will acquire knowledge and develop skills that will allow them to independently work in leading positions in the fields of audiovisual or performing arts production. They will also have developed skills for scientific research and writing. In addition, they will be competent to record, analyze, and reflect on their personal viewpoints about the profession and to write scientific-research papers.
